Privacy Policy

Last updated: 27 October 2026

This policy explains what personal data Digital Recipe collects through digitalrecipe.ie, why we collect it and what your rights are under the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

Digital Recipe is a web design and SEO agency based in Cork, Ireland. We are responsible (the “data controller”) for the personal data described in this policy. You can contact us about privacy at any time at info@digitalrecipe.ie.

What we collect and why

Contact form. When you send us a message through our contact form, we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional), the service you are interested in and your message. We use this only to reply to your enquiry, prepare a quote and, if you become a client, to deliver the work you ask for. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries.

Spam protection. To stop abuse of the contact form, we temporarily keep a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address for 15 minutes to limit how many messages can be sent in a short time.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you request. This is used to keep the website secure and working, based on our legitimate interest.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies on this website. WordPress only sets technical cookies for people who log in to manage the site. If we add analytics in the future, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Who we share data with

We never sell your personal data. We only share it with service providers that help us run the website and our business:

  • Hostinger, which hosts this website and our email.
  • Google, whose Gmail service receives copies of contact form messages for our team, and whose Google Fonts service delivers the fonts used on this site (your browser connects to Google’s servers to load them).
  • Cloudflare (cdnjs), which delivers the icon set used on this site.

Some of these providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, they rely on safeguards approved under the GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long we keep your data

We keep enquiry emails for as long as we need them to deal with your request and any project that follows, and then delete them. If you become a client, we keep the records we are legally required to keep, for example for tax purposes.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct or delete it;
  • ask us to restrict or stop using it, or object to how we use it;
  • ask us to transfer it to you or to someone else.

To use any of these rights, email info@digitalrecipe.ie. We will reply within one month. If you are not happy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at www.dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
